Banners, Flags, Bunting and Pennants Oh My!

I haven't been too creative as of late due to some major knee pain, but  after a couple of  cortisone shots  I'm finally feeling like my old self again!  Thankfully, my muse has decided to come back to visit me, and I finished up a project I'd started prior to my knee problems.

I made a baby themed banner (aka bunting, flags, pennants--who knew there were so many names?!?).  I had wanted to put "Sleeping" on it instead of "Asleep" but it was just too long.  With this particular banner I started out by using  some jumbo tags that I had and covered them in scrapbook paper.

If you'd like to see other banners,
bunting, flags or pennants I've made in the
past  for inspiration click  HERE and HERE.

sewing you really can't beat the price!

Halloween Boo Banner

  Boo Banner
I created this boo banner for my niece.
I used some Halloween papers I picked up
at Michaels this year.  I dug out the plastic
spider rings I bought last year (click Here to see
last year's project using them) and cut the
backs off and glued them on to the fronts and
added a little sparkle with extra fine glitter dust.
I added some skull beads to finish it off.

New Banner for a baby!

It was a banner day for me (hey is that booing I heard!) the day I finished this banner for my friend's grandbaby. It matched the baby's room perfectly and was such fun to make something girly :-)
Did I mention what a cutie patootie baby Kenley is and how wonderful it was to hold a new baby-it's been awhile :-)

Felt Christmas Banners Galore!

Sorry so quiet I've been sick and finally this morning I'm feeling half way normal again...whew~
I hope your not getting too tired of all these felt banners, but I'm trying to get as many made before the Christmas boutique. Here's a couple more I had done but finally took pictures of. The great thing is that I'm able to use up bits and pieces of Christmas embellishments left over from the last several years.

Christmas Felt Banner Pennant

Here's a new larger size banner I made for a Christmas boutique I'm participating in. Unfortunately the picture doesn't show the cool snow-globe medallion in the center of the snowflake. It has sparkling snow that you can shake around.
I made this one larger so it can actually be hung on it's own.

Winter Wonderland Felt Banners

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween! Now to get ready for the "C"word...prepare yourself I'm gonna say it...Christmas! I'm participating in a Winter Wonderland Banner Swap and the theme is winter whites with a touch of blue or teal.

Here's my finished banners. I found a great base to use, stiff glittered felt. They also have stiff felt that's un glittered. I highly recommend using the stiff felt for making banners. It's so easy to cut and firm enough to add heavier objects on without having to add a backing if you don't want to.

Here's some of them up close. At the dollar store I was able to find some great snowflakes to use. The bottom elements were also from the dollar store that I seperated, and glued to the tips using clear fabric glue.

Here they are all, no two are the same. They're now ready to be package up.

Halloween Spider Embellishment

Here's a quick and cheap Halloween embellishment you can use for cards, art, or decorations.
Its funny how you get an idea in your head and then can't get it out! I had this idea to use spider rings as an embellishment for a Halloween flag I was making so off I was in search of them. I figured I'd find them at the dollar store--Wrong! What the heck....I did finally find them at the party store.
I was going to use white glue but then
decided I'd rather use a clear laminate
adhesive instead just because I didn't
want to wait on the glue to dry and
go transparent. I just brushed
on the adhesive.
Then sprinkled with Martha Stewart's
extra fine black glitter.

I tried this on both black and orange
plastic spider. As you can see the orange
one looks terrible...it looks like one of those hairy tarantula spiders!

Here is is on my finished flag. I also
used my bewitch character and the
freebie web background I posted
previously. The spider ribbon
I found at Target in their dollar
bins and just cut it down the middle.
