Art Attitude

Sometimes you need a little art attitude! I'm trying to find mine right now but in the process I did create Ms Attitude from a cabinet card. I started this card and it sat on my table for some time because I got as far as creating the background with torn pieces of painted tissue paper and she just wasn't doing anything for me! I set her aside hoping something would come to me eventually, she had such a dour face (I know don't they all LOL) I just couldn't think of anything else to add, until I came across some stickers and Voila Mz Attitude was born she just was missing her fancy hat and earrings. This is why I don't throw things away I set them aside and eventually my muse whispers something in my ear. I also found in making this piece that I LOVE the new Sharpie oil paint pens if you haven't tried them pick a few up. I have the smaller point but I'm ready to get some of the wider tips as well. They work great under paint and glazes and over paint.

I'm still finishing up projects for swaps I'm in and sent off this altered puzzle the other day for a friend that loves Mermaids. I wish the picture was better this was before I got my new camera so its hard to see the dimension and depth it has. Right now I'm working on some more shrines.

Halloween in the air!

I'm still on a Halloween kick perhaps its wishful thinking for cool fall weather! Fall's my favorite time of year and here we don't get it nearly long enough. I love when the trees change colors and the leaves are falling.

Judging by the emails I've received its time I got my butt back in here and updated things. I got caught by real life grabbing me by the hair with the boys getting ready for school and band camp and all of that jazz! Calgon take me away already LOL

I'm excited to share that I'll be attending Art and Soul in Oregon in October I'm very excited about this whoohooo!! Let me know if your going and what classes your taking :-)

I have been diligently working on finishing up unfinished art projects and crossing them off my list which I have to admit feels pretty darn good!

I finished up a couple more cabinet cards for a swap and then created a web page to put the few that I've done on:
http://www.outsidethemargins.com/cabinetcards.html

This wasn't on my list but I had a strong desire to create some Halloween themed pieces. I used
one of the new wood plaques I'm carrying on OTM that come with pre drilled holes and Sheer ribbon if your interested in them click here: http://www.outsidethemargins.com/new.html
I stamped, painted and glazed this plaque and then added my collage and hung it from rusty wire instead of the ribbon:

I also finished up my shoe clock for a challenge on another list and its doing double duty as an entry for the American Shoe-In Exhibit you can check out the pictures here:
http://www.outsidethemargins.com/alteredshoes.html

I also received a great picture of my new and improved shrine I finished (thanks to Kris for taking pictures for me--Kris takes some amazing pictures check out her blog here:

I'm also thrilled to announce I finally have a new digital camera that takes great closes ups. After much deliberation and reading of reviews I finally bought a Olympus SP-320. My very first digital camera was an Olympus and I loved it! it was a great work horse but after one too many drops it finally died. Stay tuned for pictures soon!

I thought it was about time I get back in here and write! We're still enjoying glorious cool weather upper 90's feels so cool now! I feel for the rest of the country that is now experiencing our nasty heat wave UGH!

As we were leaving our local county fair we had a visit by a beautiful large dragonfly. He kept crashing and running into cars and the ground and you could tell he was nearing the end of his life cycle so my son caught him and brought him home and he died peacefully instead of ending up as someone's hood ornament. After I scanned him and we used him as our photoshop challenge this week.

Here's the orginal:

And my challenge piece:

And lastly a bit of humor
