Chubby Valentines!

These would make great gifts to give to your 

friends and family on Valentine's Day!

This one I really had fun with, I first stained it with ink and then added paper.  I used a brass candle cup holder as a stand on the bottom.  The top was a brass backing plate to a drawer pull.  All things I had picked up a long while back at a garage sale.

This one was painted with acrylic and then paper and embellishments added.

Eye Candy and Free EcoEnclose Sample

Here's a couple of things I recently worked on, 3x3s for an accordion book swap.
I don't think you can see the background well enough but I love how it turned out! I used punchinella as a stencil and dabbed on Golden's interference blue over a light blue background which when viewed from different perspectives, the interference colors flip between a bright opalescent color and its complement. When applied over white or lighter surfaces, the Interference color is less obvious and the "flip" effect is more obvious. The theme for this is BIRDS & BEES and the punchinella and paint gave the background a honeycomb effect.

Boy was I proud of myself for being ahead of the game with my swaps that I had signed up for. I not only got my swaps done on time, which I normally do, but I was a month or more ahead of schedule because I didn't want to feel overwhelmed with the holidays.....or perhaps it was a premonition that I was going to get sick. I was even jokingly called an over-achiever for getting my stuff done early! Well guess what I have egg on my face! Yep, I forgot a swap that I had signed up for it! I didn't write it down and then being sick it was totally out of my head until I received an email from the host. Not only did I forget, I am shamefully late! My once untarnished reputation has taken a hit and I am duly embarrassed! Thankfully Su the host has been quite understanding and is awaiting my above ATCs!

My lesson learned....write it down!!
