Queen of 17 Steampunk Card

Queen of 17
Here's a Steampunk themed necklace holder/birthday card for a friend whose turning 17.   Believe it or not I created it from embossed cardstock torso, wings and a cardstock base house.  To color them I used a combination of   Molten Metal Color Mists and a gold leafing pen to highlight the embossed areas. and then applied a layer of 3D Crystal Lacquer to seal the entire piece.

What's Your iPad Personality

Its always fun for me to find out
that something I designed is being
featured somewhere else.  Yesteray
zazzle is being featured on Squidoo as
part of What's Your iPad Personality.
If you pop over there to check it
out give it a thumbs up :-)

Art Day & Steampunk Light Switch Cover RR

Hubby and I had an art day together. He created
more Steampunk Thermometers while I worked
on various pending art projects. Then we collaborated
on the Steampunk Switch plates below for a
Round Robin I'm hosting.
Above is one of Vicki's switchplates we added part of a Guide tape (it broke off from the tape measure and has a swivel hook as you can see from the first picture where it's bent) they're used to measure wine in their big tanks and a compass

This we added the 3 wing nuts, the hand and the chain
(each item added is outlined in black)

Steampunk Light Switch Cover RR

I'm working on getting projects finished today.  First on the list was 4 switch plates for the Steampunk Outlet/Switch Plate Round Robin I'm hosting.  Above are hubby's plates where he had first added the copper tubing on each and the thermometer...I then added a gear mechanism from gutted gauges on each of them (they each have an arm that moves up and down) by drilling holes and learning to thread the hole and then adding a brass screw to each mechanism plus a little Lock Tight to hold them on.

Next were Jean's plates.  Hubby added the copper pipe on the right plate and the copper pounded braiding on the left plate.  I added the gear on the right plate and the chain hanging down.  I also added another chain on the left plate  by drilling holes and attaching it with screws and a washers.

Now they're all ready to go on to the next person for them to work on.

Steampunk Light Switch Cover RR

I'm hosting a Steampunk Light switch/Outlet Cover RR with 4 other people.  Above are my switch plate covers ready to go on to the next person to add to them.  I'm not so sure they look steampunk but they are definitely altered LOL

I used brass switch  plates covers and solidered on one of them.  Its hard to tell from the picture but I also sprayed them with my Color Mists to give the solider a patina and then sealed it with PYMII
