I was just sharing with a friend how liberating it feels to be doing so much drawing, I feel so free! In saying this I realized that it was because I feel comfortable with my drawing, be it good or bad it doesn't matter. My whole purpose of sharing my drawings is to encourage other people to draw and hopefully get across to others that it's okay if its not perfect the point is to just keep at it. There was a time that I would have been too embarrassed to share any of my drawings out of fear that they weren't *good enough* or that they weren't perfect. They are far from perfect I'll be the first to admit that LOL, but the key here is that I'm enjoying it and that I can see a difference in myself the more I keep at it, so let my ranting encourage those of you who read my blog to put together your own travel drawing kit and JUST DRAW! :-)
I must confess the second gypsy is not my original design like the others are. Its an ME design from a flag I have hanging up although, I did draw my own variation of it.
My scanner is on the fritz so I used my digital camera and took pictures which is why they aren't the best quality pictures. Below is a Mermaid Fairy I painted using regular watercolors and gouache paints and a white sailor pen:Listen to some fun Halloween themed music at Live365. I know I've mentioned 365 before, but its worth mentioning again. I love listening to it from my computer when I'm in my office/studio working. There's a plethora of music genres to choose from some I've never even heard of! You can check it out at the link below:
These are great. I especially love the way you added all the texture to the hair. The mermaid's "fish" part is very cool with all the patterns, too.
ReplyDeleteI am humbled by your magnificent drawing abilities oh talented one!
ReplyDeleteIs that me dressed as a gypsy?
My favorite was the mermaid. Great job. It's so fun. I want a car drawing kit too. I need to get over myself and just do it. I mean the only way to get better is to practice - right?
ReplyDeleteThe joy you take in your drawing is obvious in the drawings; they have a free, joyful and spirited feel to them. It's all good (especially the mermaid).

WOW!!! You never cease to amaze me with your talent! Do you have that spare room ready for me to come and move in? LOL! I still have to take that pic!
ReplyDeleteThose are really lovely Aileen :) They evoke happiness and the colors always look so touchable.
ReplyDeleteYou know I really should get a car kit too, I've a small pad and ball point pen mainly for altered art ideas but to actually draw would be so nice.
You are very talented Aileen. Eveything you do is terrific.
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic textured drawings, so wonderful to behold - THANK YOU for having the courage to share - although to be honest no courage was needed, they are so great. Loved the gypsies xxxx
