Freebie Silhouettes

Here's a new whimsical drawing I drew and then
tweaked it in PSP. Below I used the same drawing but
made it into a silhouette to use in another
digital piece using PSP.

Fun with PSP

I had a little fun with this picture I took
yesterday of our Vintage metal chairs, hubby collects.
I used Paintshop Pro (PSP) to alter the picture.

How to add a Copyright Symbol using PSP

I've had several emails asking how I create a copyright watermark on my pictures. Here's a simple tutorial. I use Corels Paint Shop Pro so if your using Adobe Photoshop you'll have to try to to see if you can adapt my directions as best you can. I've used both programs and personally I've found PSP (Paintshop Pro) to be much more user friendly and the price alone is a lot cheaper. In fact I just found a great deal where you can get PSP at Frys for free with their rebate.
Keep in mind there are many ways you can add a watermark this is what works for me :-)

1. Open an image. Select the text tool and click on the image where you want to place the text.
2. In the text entry dialog, type the copyright symbol (see below) or any other text you want to use for a watermark.

3. Still in the text entry dialog, highlight the text by dragging across it and set the font, text size and formatting as desired.

4. With the text still highlighted, click the color swatch and set the text color to light gray or white then click APPLY.

5. Scale and position the text if necessary.

6. Go to Layers > Properties and set Opacity to 35-60 (the level of opacity depends on how light or dark your background is-the above sample was set at 50 opacity) OK out of window.
7. Now click on File and SAVE AS > rename your file so you still have a clean original photo with no watermark.

How to Create an Alt Key Copyright Symbol
© - Hold down the ALT key with your left hand and use your right hand to enter the numbers 0169 on the number pad. Release the Alt key and the symbol © will appear.

Eye Candy!

Here's a few pieces I created on Sunday my one day I try to make a point of creating guilt free! It doesn't always work out that way for one reason or another but this weekend it did.
Journal page depicting how painful my tongue felt after loosing part of a filling and a pointing piece kept rubbing against my tongue!
Still working at drawing faces and people. I combined this with a digital layer.

This one is my favorite. I named them The Deedles....don't ask me why but that's the name that came to me after I drew them LOL I combined it with some digital magic to finish it off.

Winter Trees

Another Digital piece I did using the above picture (this is another picture my niece took on the campus of Notre Dame). Click HERE to download your own copy.

Winter Trees
Winter trees...
A blotter of inky branches against the sky.
A hazy blueprint of winged creatures in the night.
Memories growing, ring by ring.
They seed and stretch so effortlessly.
Winter trees...

Soups on!

Life's a Bowl of Soup
I was inspired by last week's Inspire Me Thursday's prompt "Soup". I used a combination of mediums--watercolors, paper ephemera, pen and ink, and a little digital mojo to finish it off.

Digi Page

Here's a digi piece I made with my niece in mind whose deep in the throws of winter in Indiana. Being a California Grl she's still enamoured with the snow but is looking forward to summer. The winter pictures in the background are pictures she took at Notre Dame where she's attending college. You can download a freebie HERE.

Digi Art and Autumn

Good Morning! What a glorious fall weekend! Our weather was just right! I'm trying to enjoy every bit of it before it's gone and the cold sets in. Our fall has finally started turning here and some of the trees are just gorgeously full of color!

I created a couple of Digi pieces yesterday using PSP.

Autumn Grls

Autumn Grls
Here's a little autumn digital piece I created using Paint Shop Pro (incidentally if your looking for a user friendly and inexpensive graphics's program I highly recommend PSP click the link above to read more about it--no affiliation). The fall picture in the background is compliments of my niece in Indiana. Out here in California we don't have very colorful autumns, so we live vicariously through fall from other places LOL.
I've uploaded some new freebie pictures in OTM's gallery HERE , so take a moment to download them and create your own digital work of art!
Happy Creating!

Digital Delight

For some reason the cooler fall weather makes me want to do more digital art and it's been far too long since I've done any digital pieces so it's felt good to work on my skills again.

Music Maker

Music Maker
I guess I really am on a roll here LOL Mostly it's because I've needed to create, but I haven't had the time until late at night or early in the morning which is perfect for me to do digital work then. I've been asked several times if I could explain my steps, but honestly that would be very difficult to do. There's no direct steps it's usually a little of this and a little of that...hm..I think I'll try this...oops that didn't' work...oops I better undo kind of thing (I do work in a lot of layers if that helps any). ;-)

Time Imagined

Time Imagined
Another digital piece, hey what can I say I was on a roll (see previous post for other digital piece)

She Dreamed...

I created another digital piece since I didn't have time to get my hand's dirty today! I at least was able to create something digital again using Corel's Paint Shop Pro. Someone had asked me why I like PSP....for the price you really can't go wrong with a graphics's program compared to Photoshop...I've had both and used both right now I don't have Photoshop anymore, so I'm back to using my PSP. PSP has many of the same features and capabilities as photoshop does, but PSP to me is more user friendly. They each have futures I like about them, if only I could merge them together LOL The cool thing about PSP is you can download a trial version to try so if your curious check it out.
