I love a good zombie movie I'll admit it....Sean of the Dead (makes my family and I laugh every time).  I'm a fan of the AMC Walking Dead series...but do I think they're real....NO LOL apparently the CDC is now preparing people for a  Zombie Apocalypse given the horrid face eating incident the other day in Miami
the CDC wants you to be prepared so click the button below to get your Zombie 101 Preparedness Kit:

Revamping Your Outdoor Decorations!

Last year I bought a cute metal
Mary Engelbreit sign that I
thought would hold up to outdoors.
Turns out I was wrong and by this
summer season it looked like this:
So it was time to revamp it!

Thankfully I was able to easily peel
off most of the  sturdy background paper.
Then I lightly sanded it, wiped it off
and painted it with some craft chalkboard
paint, outlined it with a white paint pen,
and wrote my message with some
colored chalk.

Presto my revamped sign
now looks like this:

Adopt a Marine

My nephew Josh is a Sargent in the Marines and is currently serving in Afghanistan.
They had to close down their mobile kitchen due to some Marines getting food poisoning, so they are only eating MRE's. He and his men are requesting any microwaveable food. If anyone would like to adopt he and his men and would like to send a care package to them leave me a comment with your email and I'll send you their address and a list of other items they would appreciate.

More Finished Projects...

ATB Basket swap.  The idea was to
create a basket of some sort using an ATB.

The above ATB I used  a vintage tart tin
to create my basket and created the
bird from some paper clay.
This block stumped  me for awhile
I had the base all done but couldn't
decide what to put for the basket.
I stumbled upon the flower and things
seemed to come together after that.

Time Flies By!

Gosh has it been almost 2 weeks since I last posted!
I'm not sure where the time went, but my head and heart just hasn't here lately.

I did manage to get some swap projects
finished up, whew that always feels good!
A couple of journal pages for a friend.
The backgrounds were created on
Trader Joe's newsprint flyers, gesso,
and my Neon Color Mists and my

I made to swap with a some friends.

Grapefruit Curd...and a printable Label.

A few weeks back I made some grapefruit curd
I was a little hesitant because, well because... its grapefruit!
I actually liked it better then the lemon curd I made.
I also absolve some of my guilt for letting so many
of our grapefruit go to waste.  I mean really just how
many grapefruit can one eat when you have TWO
huge grapefruit trees that produce twice a year!!

I followed this recipe HERE
except I did not add the ginger or lemon juice
I did however double my recipe

Above is a picture of it cooking down...

...and here it is brought to a boil.

And here they are all canned and ready to eat!

How about some quick grapefruit bread
to go with your curd click HERE to
check out the recipe!

Here is  printable label for you to download
print if you decide to make some yourself.

Revitalizing...Upcycling or Recycling..You decide?

I just had to share this vintage CocaCola
Cooler hubby has revitalized by cleaning
it up then building a wooden to for it so
that it doubles as a table and a cooler.
He also put rolling castors on it so it can
be moved around. Then he sealed it with
PYM II to keep out anymore deterioration.
