Happy New Years!

Things have finally started winding down from Christmas, company's gone, the house is cleaned yet still there's not much time for art yet, but I did manage to create a digital piece yesterday in time to wish you all a
Happy New Year

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday I made out like a bandit on a visit to hubby's garage while he was sorting through his stash of odds and ends! I used my new Light Tent to take the picture, normally I would have had to make adjustments in photo shop because of the light and reflection I didn't have to do anything to this. If you take pictures often of your art and have problems getting good lighting I highly recommend a light tent...the kit I got for Christmas came with two lights, a tripod and light tent that all folds up into a small bag. The one I have is:
Pay It Forward
I've been watching this post go around and I just couldn't resist participating, I love the idea of sharing my art with someone when they least expect it. Read further to see what I'm talking about...
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this Pay It Forward exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow, or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. So basically, if you comment and you’re on, I’ll send you something that I've made!Once you sign up, copy and paste the above paragraph on your blog, and three other lucky people will be recipients of your handmade work. I will check my blog daily to see who the first three sign ups are, and if they've joined this Pay It Forward exchange, they will be the recipients from me.Make sure to leave your blog address with your message, so I can check your blog. I will also need your email address so I can contact you for details of where to send them.
Christmas Card
Here's my first Christmas card of the season. I used odds and ends of goodies I had, some were left over from other years. I use a shoe box to store all my Christmas themed items (stamps, papers, embellishments and ribbons) in from one year to the next, that way I have it all together and I'm not having to dig around trying to find things. When I'm done it goes back up on the shelf.
(The colored boarders were added in photoshop since I had to use my digital camera to take the picture because the scanner didn't scan it well.)
My Giftee
Today is the day! well technically it isn't for me until tomorrow since I am day 1 but I can finally show you what giftess I made and their stages:
You should be able to click on the pictures to view a larger version
(please do not download the pictures).
Let me know how you like my new blog design specifically if its fitting on your monitor I'd would love to know how people are viewing it, thanks!!
Happy Holidayz
Since we have such a uniquely painted house we decided last year to go with unique Christmas decorations for our yard. This year we added our Vintage Buddha/Tiki man and a surf board.
Fairies Galore!
I've had Displaced Fairies running rampant through my house and finally I have them gathered and ready to be adopted by a brave friend of mine! I don't think she intends to keep them all but plans on share them with friends and family. I sure hope not or she may be in for more mischief then she's use to! I sure hope she's ready!
Here's another Fairy box made from a K&Company Alphabet letter box. I first painted just the top with black gesso then used rub-ons and aged it with a bit of glaze mixed with Nickle Azo acrylic paint. Once that dried I stamped with gold leafing paint.
The backside I added paper and painted black just around the edge.
I colored these fairy boxes and the house fairy box all with Color Mists and then stamped with white Gesso and then sealed them with PYMII
I used a wooden shadow box shrine for the fairy bird house below
