I'm revisiting a piece I created back in November. At that time I wasn't sure if it was finished or not so it sat waiting. Today I added brass candle cups turned upside down and screwed into the bottom for feet and an aluminum corner reinforcement piece hubby had given me after taking apart a screen.

This is definitely another example of being patience and waiting for the right inspirations to come along to finish a piece.
This is an ingenious piece, Aileen! It's hard to believe that such a lovely masterpiece began life as a lowly 8x8 chunky canvas! You worked wonders with it and it's great that you had the patience to wait for the final finishing touches, which do complete it perfectly!

Oh yes! this is wonderful. I love what you've done with it. Just right. :)
ReplyDeleteI do believe that the "feet" and "peak" additions give this piece more of a shrine effect ... and, I still love what you did with this hand.

Aileen this is just perfect! I thought it was super before, but you have put the period on the sentence! The feet and peak were just what it needed to give it a more shrinelike appearence and presence. Great work!
ReplyDeleteLove the addition of the cups for feet and metal piece at the top. Where did you get that hand!
ReplyDeleteIT turned out very cool Aileen!
ReplyDeleteGood things come to those who wait! It is perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! I think the little cups make the piece very special. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAileen,
ReplyDeleteI thought the original piece was lovely, but you're right. It now looks complete and totally fantastic.
Aileen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful piece! It looked great in November, but the finishing touches you added are absolutely perfect! It is a real show-stopper! I hope it is displayed somewhere that you can see it from all angles....
As always, my dear, FABULOUS art and inspiration!!!!
