  2. Oh my, I have to have this book - whether I win a signed copy or not. (At least) 3 of my blog friends or their family members have work in it: your hubby, Cyndi, and Lotus.

    Congratulations to all!

What I love about steampunk is looking at all the artfully arranged bits and pieces and imagining their prior useful lives.

    Enrty #3 is what I love about Steampnk style;

    - industrial look of watches and mechanical gears
    - metal, metal and more metal
    - intricacy and compexity of the designs
    - vintage Victorian designs
    - colors
    - excessive layering
    - juxtaposition of the hard metal with the soft flowing designs

Thanks for doing this giveawy - andhope I win!

  9. Steampunk style is AMAZING! The more I see gears, bolts, washers, wires, etc., being used in such creative ways, the more inspired I become. I've seen it used with creating dolls, used with sculpy/fimo clays, paintings, and so many other ways. I've got some watch gears here...need to get busy and figure out what to do with them!

  12. fantastic giveaway, what I like about steampunk? it gives a unique use for items that would otherwise be mundane and usually not given a second thought about.

  13. Steampunk is a term I am unfamiliar with. I'd love to learn more about it. Certainly this type of art is thinking outside the box - how much fun is that!?!

  15. I like Steampunk because of the gears first off! I like the nostalgic mix of Victorian art/items with imaginary steam engines. As mentioned before, I like the gears and other pieces of the steam engines imagined by the artist.

    Thanks.

  17. Great giveaway, Aileen! I really enjoyed making my Steampunk Debutante mini album last October using the fabulous graphic45 collection of papers and embellishments. What I like about Steampunk is the romance of Victorian times "coupled with the hope and promise of futuristic design." (paraphrased from the Castle TV show)

    Congratulations to your husband!

  33. What I love about steam punk is it reminds me so much of my Dad. He was a "junque" collector and always saw the potential of other peoples' cast-offs - so often metal and machinery. Our back yard was "steam punk" way before its time - LOL! I would love to start putting some things together in memory of him. It is awesome of you to have a give-away of the book. I haven't done any steam punk yet, but would love to give it a try.

    Blessings,
    Tricia
