I'm admitting to my guilty pleasure my sister has enticed me by gifting me a book for my birthday...I must state these are not the typical books I like to read so I was pleasantly surprised when I did like them and "got hooked!" The books are written by Stephenie Meyer and titled: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. I have always been an avid reader, but sadly between business and having to steal time for art I quit reading unless a good author comes along that hooks me! That's exactly what with this new series did, damn my sister for tempting me with this drug! I'm very excited to learn that the first book will be made into a movie coming out Nov. 21st.
They're classified as young adult books, but none the less they have been fun to read. Although, I would consider them light reading and rather doubt they would win any great literary awards I did them enjoy. I think it helped that I had no clue about them and was not caught up in the hype therefore I had no preconcieved expectations so there was no disappointment on my part.
Read the following Summary from Twilight the book One:

My daughter gave me the first one to read, I read it in 1-1/2 days and I work full time. She gave me the other 3 last week. I am now into book 3, 1/2 way through it. I am hooked!
Aileen I'm with ya! My daughter (11) read all 4 books in one week and begged me to read them because she knows I am vampire obsessed. I'm 1/2 way thru the second one and yes I am hooked. I'm a 45 year old vampager. Get it. I can't be a teenage so I'm a vampager. Geesh I crack myself up. Anyway. I totally relate.
Aileen, I've not had much time to surf the net lately what with being knee deep (or is ncek deep?)in nursing school, so I haven't checked out your blog in a while, but I just had to leave you a comment here- better late than never, huh? My daughter (16) went on and on and ON about these books, telling me that I just HAD to read them and all I kept thinking was, "teenage vampires- yea, right". She finally wore me down and I loved them... I nearly went through withdrawls when she took the third one on a Habitat for Humanity trip and I couldn't get it from the library. I had to wait nearly a WEEK for her to get it back to me and I read the whole thing in two days. (This was before I went back to classes at the end of August...) I wanted to tell you about her other book, "The Host". It is nothing like the Twighlight series, but it is an incredibly good read- geared more for adults. I actually thought it was better than the Twighlights- in a different way. If you have a chance to read it, I think you'd enjoy it.
