Aged to Perfection Birthday Card

I've been working on birthday cards

since I have two sisters and a cousin 

all with birthday's one day after each 

other in May...12, 13 and 14!

For this card I used one of 

Outside The Margin's cupcakes 

from their Mmm Cupcake collage 

sheet then layered it with 

decorative scrap paper.

I finished it off by adding 

extra fine fairy glitter dust 

on the top of the cupcake to 

give it some sparkle!

The lettering I used are 

rub-ons.

Chocolate Covered Peeps!

Here's an easy peasy Easter treat!

I'm not sure where I first saw this idea

or if just came up with it.  I made these

adorable chocolate covered peeps

for my hubby and sons for Easter.

I used lollipop sticks its not easy to get them into the 

peeps but if you kind of screw them in that seems 

to work easiest.

I used Wilton's dark melting chocolate

and melted it into a coffee mug instead

of a bowl so that the chocolate was

high enough to dip the peeps into. 

I also spooned the chocolate over 

the bunnies to make sure they were

really covered.

Once they were dipped I added sprinkles

and allowed them to harden on foil.

Here they are 2 to a package ready

for Easter!

P.S. I  just have to tell you I'm not a peeps 

fan unlike the rest of my family, but I just

had to taste one and it surprised me

how good it was...course how can you

go wrong with chocolate! LOL

Need your help with a name...

I finished up an art doll I had started a 

long time ago. It's for an art doll swap I'm  in.

The top portion was created from a clear plastic 

anatomy man that I melted and patinaed.  The 

face was made from fix-all and the body is a 

resin sculpture from the dollar store.

I need your help naming this so please 

leave a comment with what name comes to 

mind to you.

QUEEN OF IT ALL 

I finished up my other queen themed ATB 

for the swap I'm in.  I had it part way done but 

then couldn't think of how to finish it until 

yesterday and then BAM it hit me and now 

its finished! I love when that happens!I 

I again used two giant 

buttons stacked for the base.

Retro Fit

Hubby gave our address post a retro fit since after many years it was starting to fall apart. He originally made it out of a table leg and a bed post.

He wanted to paint it red white and blue....ah I don't think so! I know our house is BRIGHT but I've worked really hard to pull all the right colors together and red, white and blue is not part of that!  So we compromised and settled on orange like our swing.  Now that it's all fixed and repainted I sealed it with PYM II like my door and mailbox are also. It has really kept them from fading and standing up to the hot sun and winter weather fabulously!

It's beginning to look like Halloween...

Worked on a couple ATBs for a holiday Round Robin I'm participating in.

The above block arrived to me painted purple-Halloween is the holiday chosen for this person's block.  I first sprayed the block with black spray webbing paint.  Then added the tart tin for the base and some images from Outside The Margins' Day of the Dead Collage sheet. Now it's ready to move on to the next person.

The above block is mine and my holiday of choice is Halloween too.  I was going for a haunted house kind of look.  I first mounted one of Outside The Margins' weathered ATB Blocks to a sardine can that I had painted with black gesso then sealed with PYMII.  For the peak of the roof I disassembled a fold up ruler and then laid the sections side by side and stapled them together with a heavy duty staple gun then nailed them into the block at the sides.   The image is another from OTM's Day of the Dead collage sheet.  It will be fun to see what the next person to adds to it.

Waiting for a new life...

I recently posted about my amazing and courageous 17 year old niece who has cystic fibrosis and needs a double lung transplant.  A HUGE thank you to all who have donated towards her transplant!! (You rock!)
